CharterNet meeting 2011 to take place in Serbia
Posted: 03rd February 2011

It is with pleasure that the EUROPARC Federation announce that the 7th CharterNet meeting will take place at Donji Milanovac in Djerdap National Park, Serbia from 28th June -1st July.
Herewith the Federation and Djerdap National Park, an active EUROPARC member, extend a warm and sincere invitation to all EUROPARC members to join the meeting to bring all of the European sustainable tourism experience together. The invitation is extended in particular to Charter certified parks and candidates or those with a keen interest in the management of tourism in their area, to take advantage of this unique opportunity to meet and share experiences.
The conference will take place in spectacular natural landscapes such as the UNESCO world heritage Djerdap gorge through which the Danube flows. The area combines a special local cultural history, a favorable climate and a complex network of cliffs and canyons. All distinguish Djerdap as a unique European reservation of flora and fauna, where lynx and wolf remain. Such an area undoubtedly attracts many visitors. Although not yet in the Charter network, Djerdap National Park are keen to share with us the visitor attractions of their area, both natural and cultural, and learn from the tourism experience from Charter parks and other protected areas across Europe.
Please visit their website for a flavour of the area.
The three days will of course include excursions into the local area, but a chance too to consider current and future development in sustainable tourism across Europe. So please note the dates in your diary, and plan to be in Serbia in June! This is CharterNet meeting not to be missed!
A full programme and booking details will be published very soon.
