Causses du Quercy starts implementation of Part II

Posted: 26th August 2009

Another Charter Areas has intensified its cooperation with the local tourism businesses by implementing the second part of the European Charter: The Parc naturel régional Causses du Quercy. The methodolog has been officially validated by EUROPARC's European Charter Evaluation Committee. The park has developed its own methodology for this implementation based on the "Guide méthodologique pour les entreprises touristiques" developed by the IPAMAC (Inter Parcs du Massif Central).

The Causses du Quercy integrated the Charter Part II and the label "Accueil du Parc" which has been introduced by the French Federation of Nature Regional Parks into one methodology. So far, no operational link  has been established in France between the two methodology ("Marque Parc", IPAMAC  methodology)  whereas  the  European  Charter  for  Sustainable  Tourism  may  be  used  as  a framework to assist the provider in order to have a label ("Parc" or any other) and thus take advantage of an effect as far as its image is implied.

The Parc Naturel Régional des Causses du Quercy proposes common approach and common analysis  tools.  As  a  consequence,  the  Parc  gathered  the  Federation  of  Parcs  Naturels  Régionaux national  recommendation  scheme  and  the  IPAMAC  method,  in  order  to  obtain  only  one  reference audit for the analysis of touristical service.

This new method enables :

  • a better legibility of both trends relatively to touristical suppliers,
  • a better analysis of services and achievement of action plans,
  • a more efficient settlement of tools and help to suppliers.

You can download a summary of the methodological approach on this page.

The complete methodology is available for our members in the Ressource Centre of this website.
