69 New Charter Partners in Spain

We warmly welcome the 69 tourism businesses from six Spanish Charter Areas that have been awarded as Charter Partner in Spain. In the framework of an official ceremony during the Spanish tourism fair FERANTUR, on 20th of March, 55 tourism businesses received their Charter Partner Certificates. The  During 2007, EUROPARC Spain coordinated a working group with the financial support of the Secretary for Tourism, which developed the Spanish methodology for implementing the Part II of the Charter. This methodology, which was approved by EUROPARC at the beginning of 2008, has now been successfully applied to tourism businesses within six protected areas in Spain over nine months with the help from the Foundation Fernando Gonzáléz Bernáldez/EUROPARC Spain. Present at the ceremony were Francisco Javier Madird, Secretario General for heritage and sustainable development of the Ministry of Environment of Andalucia, the president of EUROPARC Spain, Hermelindo Castro and the deputy director for planning and sustainablility at the Spanisch Tourism Institut (TURESPAÑA) Gloria Barba.
